Laptops, or notebooks as they are often named, usually take more abuse than the static desktop as they are moved around a lot and therefore their repair needs are normally different.
Cracked screens, broken keyboards or touchpads, broken power jacks or lost or faulty power adapters are all common problems we can resolve as well as the usual software issues and virus or malware infections.
Before the repair we always carry out a complete diagnosis and assessment of your notebook and will inform you of the findings before starting work. Repairing major components on older notebooks can often be more expensive than replacing with a new model as prices have dropped so much.
If we feel the repair is not economically viable due to the age or condition of the notebook we will tell you so. You can then make a decision on completing the repair based on the facts.

- inverter replacement - if your screen has gone black it could be either the inverter or the screen backlight. we can check and replace either the laptop inverter or the laptop screen - whichever is faulty
- notebook keyboard replacement - missing, sticky or liquid damaged keys? We can replace your complete keyboard
- laptop power supply adapters - replacement OEM notebook power supply charger ordered for specific laptop models - not the variable voltage type that usually kill your equipment!
- memory upgrades - why not speed up your notebook by adding extra ram memory? Memory prices are at an all-time low so you should really be running XP with a minimum of 1 GB Ram and Win 7 or Vista with a minimum of 2GB. If your laptop supports it, more is better! Contact us so we can check for you
- dc power jack repairs - dependant on the model we can usually replace or repair the power supply jack which often gets damaged when the power lead is snagged on something. If the jack is a modular unit we can replace it in-house but if it is a unit soldered onto the motherboard we usually send it away for the repair. Obviously this takes longer, but we will inform you at the time if this is the case
- overheating problems - often caused by blocked fan or radiator, this can causes blue screen errors or laptop thermal shutdown. We can usually resolve this problem as part of our fixed price annual computer service
- remote notebook repairs - we can access your laptop and complete most repairs without bringing it into our workshop. If you are in your hotel or on holiday the other side of the world, as long as you have broadband access we can help with our remote laptop support. - workshop services - drop off you laptop to our workshop in Bisley for the most cost effective repairs
- on-site services - repairs and maintenance carried out at competitive hourly rates either in your own home or business
- no fix - no fee - in the unlikely event that we are unable to fix your notebook we will return it to you and you will owe nothing
- fast service - for scheduled upgrades, repairs or maintenance if dropped off at the workshop before noon your laptop is normally ready before noon next day. For non-scheduled repairs requiring new parts to be ordered, we aim to return your notebook to you within 3 days as we only use the fastest, quality suppliers. We will give you a time estimate if your laptop needs to be sent away for a dc jack repair
- out of hours service - we appreciate that many of you have to work during the day, and we can accommodate you. Your PC can be dropped off before you go to work in the morning or in the evening at no extra charge, allowing you to get on with everyday life.
