Computancy design and build two different types of websites - standard 'static' brochure websites and 'dynamic' Content Management Systems (CMS) websites that can include e-commerce, shopping cart web sites. Our Economy and Standard packages are built using standard html and our Enhanced Package is a CMS site that can include an e-commerce site, should you require.
Historically, most web sites would be the static brochure style, the benefits of this being a lower initial outlay and a site that used less server power. The downside is that you need to contact a web designer each time you need your site updating, and when you want to change your site in the future, the whole site needs to be re-designed, with the associated cost.
Today, most of Computancy's customers are investing in a CMS or 'dynamic' site. Whilst the initial outlay may be slightly higher, this is offset by the benefit that you can log-on to your site from any web browser in the world and update any of your site content whenever you want to; you don't need to pay a web designer to do it. Because the structure of the site and the content are separate, when you want a fresh new look to your site only the template that affects the layout and display needs to be changed. The content remains the same, stored in the database. You can have a completely new looking site every year if you wish, for a fraction of the price of a new site.
CMS is the way forward for website design. We would strongly recommend all potential clients to consider the future benefits of this type of site to them.
